Classification: Full-time, exempt.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Finance Manager at YMCA of San Juan ensures a system of strong internal controls and fiscal soundness and provides direction and leadership for YMCA finance and business operations.
Some of the main duties of the position are planning, directing, and coordinating accounting (including job cost accounting), banking, and financial statements for the profit/cost centers. Finally, the Finance Manager is required to supervise accounting functions, oversee internal controls, annual insurance & benefits, monitor cash flow & inventory, and assist the outside auditor with annual audits.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- 3+ years of related experience in accounting.
- Accounting experience in a nonprofit organization preferred.
- Knowledge of, and expertise with, computerized accounting systems and standard business software.
